On Saturday 04/26/08 at 2:00 pm there will be a rally and an act of civil disobediance (planting of seedlings) at the federal building in Westwood. Our goal is to turn up the heat on the DEA to stop interferring with California Law and the busines thereof. This rally is also to remind our Govenator that it is time that he stand behind us. While the building will be closed we intend on having the press there and to do that we need a spectacular turn out that is why we are planning for a Saturday.
There is alot going on politically with MMJ right now and we really need to raise awareness to our cause so please support this event so that we get the press needed.

This month, we will be talking about how to talk to elected
officials and the media to dispel bias and overcome
indifference. Read the ASA Media Manual and ABC's of Citizen
Advocacy online.

Mon, April 14, 2008 - 1:25 PMHello, ASA members and friends. There are only two weeks left until the April 26 protest at the Federal Building in west LA. We need to turn out a big group of patients and supporters that day to send a strong message to the LAPD, DEA, and elected officials – including our silent Mayor and Governor. There is going to be media coverage and some entertainment, but we mostly need numbers. I need your help to promote this event!
You can download a copy of the event flyer by clicking on the words “Download, copy, and distribute...” in the lower left hand corner of the page at www.ASAaction.org After printing the two page flyer, photocopy the pages front to back to create four double-sided flyers on a single page. Then cut the copies in quarters to make finished flyers. I like to have the copies made on colored paper and cut by the staff at the copy shop. You can leave copies at medical cannabis collectives, coffee shops, smoke shops, or other public places. Be sure to ask permission.
Join us at the LA-ASA meeting at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 19, to pick up flyers and get ready for the big day. The meeting will be at the Patient ID Center located at 470 S. San Vicente Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90048. Don’t forget to mark your calendars and invite your friends:
